Southern super star and top hero Rajanikanth is gearing up himself for his forthcoming movie Rana which will be directed by famous director KS. Ravi Kumar. Rajani, after sparing days in the selection of co-stars and technicians for this prestigious venture, is now busy learning the sword skills at a secret location with the help of a veteran swordsman.
“It is not that Rajani does not know any thing about using swords but he wants to bring a realistic look to his character in the movie and accordingly, he is busy upgrading his sword-using skills under the direction of a veteran,” said sources close to the super star in Chennai.
Rajani in the past donned roles that saw him use swords in movies like Alavudheenum Arputha Vilakkum and Adutha Varisu. But the movie Rana looks something special for the superstar and he doesn’t want to leave no stone unturned to make it a super duper hit like his last movie Robot.
The shooting for the film will be launched in April 2011 in London and there is a heavy flood of business enquires for the movie already as it would be a masterpiece of technical excellence.
Rana features Deepika Padukone, Vidya Balan and Rekha in female lead roles. Soundarya Rajinikanth is jointly producing the movie in collaboration with Eros International for which the music will be composed by Oscar award winner AR Rahman. Charles Darby will be the technical director.
