Ram Charan's Game Changer hit the screens on 10 Jan 2025 amidst huge expectations. With Ram Charan and Shankar coming together for the first time, it created tremendous buzz. However the film disappointed everyone and now this is leading even distributors unhappy.
A popular distributor shared “Collections need to increase significantly during the upcoming holidays in the Telugu states,” the distributor stated. He praised Ram Charan’s performance, noting his ability to showcase varied shades but criticized the outdated political theme and excessive cinematic liberties taken by director Shankar. “Scenes like ballot boxes transported by drones and a caretaker Chief Minister (played by S.J. Suryah) smashing EVMs in a polling booth didn’t sit well with the audience,” he observed.
He said the film's collections got effected due to Sankranthi festival as many left to their home towns in Andhra Pradesh. Another distributor shared that Dil Raju's comments on Telangana dawat impacted the film's collections. He shared “His remarks hurt public sentiment, and collections dropped on day two despite his subsequent apology, which many felt was too late and insufficient,”
