Kanguva's Release Uncertain: Legal Troubles Threaten November 14th Debut
Suriya's highly anticipated "Kanguva," directed by Siruthai Siva, faces a precarious release date of November 14th due to mounting legal issues. While pre-bookings have begun globally, a series of court cases threaten to derail the film's theatrical premiere.
The production house, Studio Green Productions, is in a tight spot as they navigate two significant legal battles.
Debt Recovery Case:
The Chennai High Court has ordered KE Gnanavel Raja, producer of "Kanguva," to settle a 20 crore debt owed to the court-appointed administrator of late financier Arjun Lal. This payment needs to be made before November 13th, or the film's release will be blocked.
Pending Payments Case:
Additionally, the court has ordered Raja to pay 1.60 crores to the Chief Registrar of Chennai High Court, fulfilling outstanding payments to Fuels Technologies. Failure to do so before the release date will also result in the movie being halted.
Previous Legal Hurdle:
It is noteworthy that the production house had previously faced a legal hurdle with Reliance Entertainment, which was resolved through payment of pending dues.
Uncertainty Looms:
The multiple cases against Studio Green Productions cast a shadow of doubt on "Kanguva's" smooth release on November 14th. It remains to be seen whether the production house can resolve these legal challenges and secure the film's theatrical debut as scheduled.
