"Barroz" is an ambitious project, based on Jijo Punnoose's novel "Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure." Punnoose has also penned the film's plot and screenplay, bringing the fantastical world of the novel to life.

Produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas, the film boasts a stellar cast, with Mohanlal leading the charge in the titular role. Joining him are Maya, Cesar Lorente Raton, Kallirroi Tziafeta, Tuhin Menon, and Guru Somasundaram, adding depth and intrigue to the narrative.
