Mega Prince Varun Tej is gearing up for a comeback in Telugu cinema after a series of less successful films in recent years. He's currently focused on "Matka," a period mass entertainer directed by Karuna Kumar and co-starring Meenakshi Chaudhary, slated for release this year.
Varun Tej has also lined up two new projects, signaling his commitment to regaining his box office momentum. One of these films will be directed by Merlapaka Gandhi, known for his comedy-centric films with a touch of crime. Titled "Kanaka Raju," the film is said to be a crime comedy with a major portion of the shoot set in Korea. The visa process for the Korean shoot has recently been completed, and regular shooting is scheduled to begin in November. This ambitious project will be produced by Krish's First Frame Entertainments and UV Creations. Thaman has been roped in to compose the music and background score for "Kanaka Raju."
Adding to the excitement, Varun Tej has also given his nod to another film, which will be directed by "Touch Chesi Chudu" fame Vikram Sirikonda. Production is scheduled to begin next year with Mythri Movie Makers on board as producers. A major portion of the shoot will take place in the USA.
With these three projects in his pipeline, Varun Tej is clearly aiming for a strong comeback in Telugu cinema. His focus on diverse genres, coupled with collaborations with established directors and production houses, suggests that he's determined to deliver films that resonate with audiences.
