GOAT buyers make huge losses. Thalapathy Vijay's "G.O.A.T" Underwhelms Telugu Audience, Denting Box Office Dominance.

Despite a growing fanbase in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Tamil superstar Vijay's latest film "G.O.A.T (Greatest of All Times)" failed to live up to expectations, experiencing a disappointing box office performance in the Telugu states.

The Telugu dubbing rights for the film were sold for a hefty Rs 16 crores, but the film's underperformance is expected to result in a significant loss of around Rs 13 crores for distributors in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. While the action film garnered a meager Rs 2.5 crore share in its initial days, it quickly fizzled out, contrasting sharply with its successful run in Tamil Nadu and the USA.

Vijay's previous releases, "Varasudu" and "Leo", had generated significant revenue in the Telugu states, with "Leo" alone earning over Rs 20 crores. His growing popularity had positioned him as a major force in the Telugu market, but "G.O.A.T" has halted his potential hattrick in the region.

Vijay's dual roles with contrasting shades failed to resonate with Telugu viewers, leading to the film's underwhelming performance. While he continues to surpass the box office success of fellow Tamil stars like Rajinikanth and Karthi in the Telugu dubbing market, "G.O.A.T" serves as a reminder that even established stars can face unexpected setbacks.
