Akhil Akkineni, despite being five films deep into the Telugu film industry, has yet to find a breakthrough. His recent release "Agent" faced a disappointing fate at the box office. However, he's forging ahead with his next project, the period film "Dheera," set to go on floors in August.

Now, news is out that Akhil has locked in his next project after "Dheera," a rural drama set against the backdrop of Chittoor. This project will be directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, who helmed the successful "Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha" starring Kiran Abbavaram.

Adding a significant twist to the story, Akhil's father, the veteran actor Nagarjuna, will be producing the film under his banner, Annapurna Studios. This move marks a significant development, as fans have long voiced their concerns about Nagarjuna's involvement in Akhil's career, hoping for his support in producing a film with his son.

While Akhil's previous ventures haven't met the expectations, this new project with a rural drama theme and Nagarjuna's backing presents a fresh opportunity for the young actor to prove his mettle. The film promises to showcase a new side to Akhil and explore a different genre, potentially setting the stage for a much-needed career revival.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the official announcement and hoping for a successful comeback for Akhil under the guidance of his father and the creative vision of Murali Kishor Abburu.
