Anushka suffering from rare disease. In a candid revelation, actress Anushka Shetty has shared her personal struggle with a rare genetic condition called Pseudobulbar Affect (PBA).

PBA causes sudden and uncontrollable outbursts of laughter or crying, often unrelated to actual emotions. These episodes, triggered by neurological issues or brain injuries, can be challenging to manage, impacting daily life with feelings of embarrassment, anxiety, and social withdrawal.

Anushka, known for her comedic timing, has encountered this condition on set, where she has found herself unable to stop laughing for extended periods, even during comedy scenes.  "I have a condition where once I start laughing, I can’t stop for 15 to 20 minutes," she shared. "Even during comedy scenes on set, I’ve ended up rolling on the floor with laughter, sometimes halting filming."

While the exact cause of PBA remains elusive, disruptions in the neurological pathways responsible for emotional regulation are thought to play a significant role.

Treatment for PBA focuses on symptom management, with low-dose antidepressants being one option to reduce the frequency and intensity of episodes.

Anushka's candidness sheds light on the often-invisible challenges faced by those with PBA. Her story serves as an inspiration to others grappling with the condition, highlighting the importance of support and ongoing management in improving quality of life.
