Saindhav on the downhill. The highly anticipated action drama "Saindhav" is experiencing a decline in popularity across the two Telugu states, with dwindling audience turnout in its approximately 250 theaters since its release on January 13th. Despite Venkatesh delivering a commendable performance as a spirited vigilante, the film is facing lackluster box office numbers, as expressed by a distributor who notes, "The film started strong with Rs 3.8 crore net collections on day one, but the momentum dwindled thereafter. Even on a Sunday, it managed only Rs 2.36 crore net collections on day 2."
The narrative, centered around the world's most expensive injection priced at Rs 17 crore, is failing to resonate with family audiences in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Despite being marketed as a father-daughter sentiment saga, it struggles to captivate viewers in the Telugu states due to the absence of light-hearted and enjoyable moments, according to the distributor.
As of now, the directorial venture by Shailesh has accumulated Rs 6.16 crore net collections, leaving a substantial gap to reach the breakeven point. The distributor emphasizes the challenge ahead, stating, "To ensure a safer position for distributors in Telugu states, the film needs to collect an additional Rs 12 crores, but achieving this seems quite difficult at the moment."
In a competitive landscape with successful films like 'Guntur Kaaram,' 'Naa Saami Ranga,' and 'Hanu Man,' Venkatesh faces an uphill battle to regain traction and attract audiences.
