What Happened To Ajay Devgn Maidaan

We seen many films got announced and then they stopped at their announcement, some of them even complete a schedule and then no word about it. Usually these things happen with small films. Butz big films are also no exception. Rarely happens that big films face such crisis. Now, a big hero Bollywood film is facing the same fate.

Ajay Devgn's Maidaan was announced Grandly in 2019 and planned to release the film in 2020. The film is based on a coach, manager Syed Abdul Raheem during 50's and 60's who put the Indian foot ball on world map. Amit Ravindranath who made blockbuster Badhai Ho Badhai is directing Maidan. Boney Kapoor is the producer.

To recreate the 60,'s, the team ha spent crores of rupees and worked hard to renovate a stadium to match 50' times they rented the entire stadium for canning some match scenes. After postponing from ,2020 they planned to release in 2021. But due to COVID outbreak and incessant rain the stadium set got damaged causing huge loss for makers. 

Finally they released posters that they will be closing with RRR in 2022. But, no word since then. Now Bollywood media is saying that everyone including Producer has moves away from the project. Boney Kapoor himself speaking about the project said, " Maidaan is out of my hands. I never thought in my life that I will face such kind of losses with a film" So, going by his words it is unlikely the Ajay Devgn starrer to make it to Theatres.
