HC calls back Kusuma Kumari

In a setback to Rosaiah Government, Prof P. Kusuma Kumari, the suspended Vice-Chancellor of Srikrishnadevaraya University, Anantapur, won a judicial battle against the state on Wednesday.

The State High Court ordered the government to immediately withdraw the suspension and reinstate Kusuma Kumari.

The High Court order gave Prof. Kusuma Kumari a partial relief as she was advised against discharging her duties till further orders. The court directed the state Government to provide all facilities to Kusuma Kumari.

The court issued the directives on the sacked Vice-Chancellor’s petition that she was not given an opportunity to offer her clarifications on the findings of the Justice Hanumanthu Committee.

She had also contended that the government had ordered her removal without giving her a chance to explain the charges
