Traditional parties in disarray: JP

The by-poll results have indicated that the era of taditional parties which believed in pumping money and liquor to woo the voters is ending, according to Lok Satta party chief Dr.Jayaprakash Narayan.

The traditional parties, the Congress and the Telugu Desam in Andhra Pradesh today are in total disarray with some of their candidates even losing their deposits.

Jayaprakash said his party will respect the verdict of the people. However, he was of the firm belief that formation of a separate State would not help solve the people's problms.

The Lok Satta chief congratulated the voters for exercising their franchise peacefully and the Chief Election Commission for conducting the elections in a free and fair atmosphere.
