Harish Rao wins by a record margin

Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) leader T. Harish Rao on Friday retained his Siddipet assembly seat with a record margin of 95,858 votes whereas his Congress and Telugu  Desam  rivals lost their deposits.

Harish Rao set a new record when he broke the record of late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who was re-elected from Pulivendula constituency in Kadapa district last year with a margin of 68,681.

Harish Rao, the nephew of TRS chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao has been winning the seat ever since the latter moved to the Lok Sabha after the 2004 elections.

A  beaming Harish Rao said at least now Congress president Sonia Gandhi should  open her eyes and know the sentiments of Telangana people.The win was so remarkable that even Congress leaders Madhu Yashki congratulated Harish Rao.
