PM to visit Chittoor dist in August

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will visit Chittoor district in connection with the inauguration of the Mannavaram project in August next.

Disclosing this to the media, Tirupati MP Chinta Mohan (Cong) who met Prime Minister recently said he urged the Prime  Minister to provide grants to the 28 cash-strapped universities in the state.

Chinta Mohan also requested the Prime Minister to speed up the Mannavaram  project which was supposed to be inaugurated last year.

The MP said, the Prime Mnister has consented to lay the foundation  stone for upgrading the Tirupati airport as an international airport. The PM is  expected to visit Tirupati in this connection next month.
