KCR's gimmicks won't click this time: DS

Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas on Wednesday alleged that Telangana Rashtra Samiti president KChandrasekhar is using regionalism and caste as a trump card to win the forthcoming by-elections.

``I am not making this statement with any grudge.  It is  the Election Commission who censured him for violating the model code of conduct,’’ the PCC chief added.

However, the PCC president felt that these gimmicks will not pay-off because the people of Telangana have  already experienced these things in the past.

Speaking at a meeting in the Nizamabad Urban  constituency, Srinivas assured the people that if he is elected to the House, the TRS chief's "shop" will be shut down for good.

The entire TRS political machinery is working for 17 to 18 hours a day to defeat DS. The TRS realizes that if DS wins, then it will lose face among the people of Telangana.

Reasoning out why they should vote for the Congress, DS noted that the Congress is the only party with the wherewithal to make the dream of a separate Telangana state a reality.

The PCC chief also questioned as to how the TRS can claim that it made sacrifices for the sake of Telangana when its members kept resigning time and again over the issue. He said the Congress leaders were the only people who have made sacrifices since they have been inconvenienced by the repeated resignations and the consequent elections being thrust upon them.
