Lok Satta on Saturday called upon Centre to take responsibility for resolution of inter-State river water disputes and water distribution among States through Constitutional amendment.

Lok Satta leaders Katari Srinivasa Rao and Lenkala Raja Reddy told newspersons that the Centre's intervention  was needed for national unity and integrity. Terming the arrest of TDP leader N Chandrababu Naidu and Lok Satta leaders by the Maha police under the pretext of preempting law and order problems as unwarranted and unfortunate.

They said preventing a fact-finding team from visiting Babli and other projects under construction in Maharashtra was unwarranted.
