Telugu Desam supremo N Chandrababu Naidu has declined to go on bail on Saturday. Maharashtra Police imposed fresh restrictions on the movement of Telugu Desam and Lok Satta leaders including Naidu who were currently lodged in the ITI Bhavan at Dharmabad since Friday.
The Maha police registered cases under sections 135, 143, 188 and several other sections against the Andhra Pradesh leaders who crossed the borders defying prohibitory orders.
The officials are reported to have disconnected the power supplies to the hall where the leaders are currently lodged.
Policemen on guard at the ITI Bhavan stopped a few leaders from coming out of the confinement in the morning. This led to verbal altercations for some time between the leaders and the policemen.
In the ensuing milee Party leader Sai Nageswar Rao reportedly fell to the ground due to heckling.
On being suggested by the Dharmabad magistrate to get back to Andhra Pradesh by obtaining bail, the TDP leader stated that he wanted to inspect the Babli project being built illegally by the Maharashtra Government.
Naidu insisted that he was rather ready to go to jail along with his leaders than go back without visiting the Babli project.
