Telugu Desam Party chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu reached Sompeta on Thursday and visited the families of those  who were killed at Gollagandi by the police on Wednesday.

Later, the former chief minister visited  the Government Hospital here where the  injured in the police firing were being treated. He announced an ex-gratia of Rs  25, 000 to each victim's family. The aid has been announced by the TDP towards farmers and fishermen who were killed in the police firing while protesting against the works launched by the Nagarjuna Construction Company on Wednesday.

The TDP supremo demanded that the Government pay an ex-gratia of Rs 10  lakh to each of the victim's families.

Interacting with the media, Naidu said, ``Revenue  Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao should quit from the cabinet owning responsibility for the Wednesday's gory incidents.’’

``We will try to bring pressure on the Government and ensure that the Thermal  Power projects is shelved in the area,’' he added.

Earlier speaking at the Visakha airport Chandrababu said ``the fishermen are facing a lot of problems. We will hold rallies in the state to draw the attention of the Government upholding the farmers' cause. In the name of Special  Economic Zones, the Government is  donating the poor people's lands to the  rich.’’
