DS gives reply to EC

Pradesh Congress Committee president  D Srinivas  who was served a show-cause notice by the Election Commission on Wednesday,  responded to it on Thursday.

Replying to the show-cause notice, DS said he only  expressed the feelings of the  party and never made any provocative remarks. The EC  will examine his letter and take  action accordingly in  a couple of  days.

As reported earlier the EC served show-cause notice to DS  for claiming that the Srikrishna panel will be in favour of  a separate Telangana and party supremo Sonia Gandhi only can give a separate Telangana.

The Election Commission considered that Srinivas violated the provisions of model code of conduct by giving an assurance to the voters that Sonia Gandhi and the Srikrishna Panel are in favour of a separate Telangana.  

The Commission acted on the complaint lodged by K.Kavita, daughter of Telangana Rashtra Samiti chief K Chandrasekhara Rao and president of Telangana Jagruti Samiti.
