Action on Vijay Shanti's letter on July 8

The explanations submitted by Telangana  Rastra Samiti MP from Medak, Vijay Sahnti is now with the Election Commission in Delhi.  A  decision will be taken on the reply on July 8, according to Chief Election Commissioner Naveen Chawla.

Chawala, who was in Chennai on an  official  visit broached the subject of Vijay Shanti’s explanation to the Election Commission.

The observers are keeping a vigil in the 12 constituencies where the by-polls are taking place. An iota of clue about distribution of  money in these segments will attract severe action, he added.

As reported earlier, Vijay Shanti made provocative statement at the Telangana Bhavan on June 30 while addressing party workers. The state election commission took  exception to the statements and asked the police to file a case against her and arrest her.

The police arrested Vijay Shanti on Monday and released her on bail later.
