Kadapa, Aug 26:
Mr Y S Vivekananda Reddy, former Kadapa MP and the brother of the Chief Minister, Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, on Wednesday filed his nomination papers for the Legislative Council from the Local Bodies Constituency.
Accompanied by his nephew and Kadapa MP, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, the former MP filed his nomination papers with the district collector, who is the returning officer, at 11 am on Wednesday. He filed his papers for the Kadapa Local Bodies Constituency in the Legislative Council.
He represented the Pulivendula Assembly segment twice while got elected from the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat for equal number of times. In the 2009 general elections, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, the son of the Chief Minister, got elected from Kadapa Lok Sabha seat and now Mr Vivekananda Reddy has filed his papers for the Council. Mr Vivekananda Reddy has strived for building the Congress in Kadapa district, the home district of the Chief Minister.
