A division bench of Andhra Pradesh High Court on Friday issued notices to the Centre, State Government and the Zee channel which is telecasting Aata -5 reality show and sought explanation as to why such reality shows should not be banned.
Acting on a public petition interest litigation, the court heard the arguments of the petitioner and respondent Zee channel on Friday and issued notices to all concerned seeking response from them.
Earlier, the High Court lifted a stay imposed by the State Human Rights Commission (APSHRC) banning the transmission of the Aata-5 Young Reality Shows on the contention that they violated children’s rights.
The Commission opined such shows spoiled the health and studies of the kids and parents should desist from sending their wards to such programmes.
