With the Election Commission issuing notification for by-elections to12 seats in Telangana region, the political parties have begun working out strategies and selection of candidates.
Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Friday called senior leaders of Telangana region in a bid to finalise selection of candidates for the bypolls.
As reported earlier, Naidu has already given his nod for the seven candidates to campaign in their respective segments. They include Gone Hanumantha Rao for Manchiryal, Ch Sudhakar Rao for Vemulavada, Alim Nizamabad Urban, M Damodar Reddy Huzurabad, Boda Janardhan Chennur, P Rajyalakshmi Sirpur and S Viswanadh for Korutla.
The TRS will field all its candidates, while the BJP is contesting only the Nizamabad Urban from where its leader
Lakshminarayana won the elections in 2009. Though the party is yet to make up its mind on fielding Lakshminarayana or others, the TRS will surely leave this seat for BJP.
The Congress, which would also be in the race for the 12 Assembly seats, is expected to name its candidates only after holding consultations with the High Command in Delhi.
