Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas on Thursday met Chief Minister K Rosaiah at his Camp Office to discuss the electoral strategy for the byelections in 10 seats in Telangana region scheduled for July 27. The discussions, however ended inconclusively.
According to sources, the Chief Minister and the PCC chief will finalise the list of candidates for the byelections on Friday before their endorsement by the party high command.
However, the meeting on Thursday mainly focused on adopting a winnable strategy for the elections and selection of candidates for the constituencies.
The two discussed the strategy to be adopted for the elections and issues concerning the local interest.The PCC chief is reported to have apprised the Chief Minister over his visit to New Delhi. He also conveyed Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s message to Rosaiah.
The meeting advised the local leaders and district committees to focus on development and programmes launched by the state government.
The Congress would make concerted efforts to sink their differences among local leaders and work hard for the party to win the candidates.
The two leaders agreed to take into confidence opinion leaders on polavaram, Chevella and Pranahita projects to be constructed in Telangana region.The meeting which lasted for 90 minutes will resume on Friday on finalising the party's nominees to the bypolls.
