Srikrishna to skip T

Justice Srikrishna Commission appointed to study public and political perception in the wake of demand for Telangana statehood will skip Telangana districts, thanks to the Election Commission notification which came into force on June 21.

 The Srikrishna panel was scheduled to hold a series of meetings with Congress leaders and other groups on July 5, 6 and 7.

 Earlier, the Commission said the series of meetings have concluded and only trips to various districts of the state would be undertaken from the second week of July. However, the five-member panel would skip the Telangana districts and visit Rayalaseema and Andhra districts until the end of the byelections.

However, the tours to Telangana districts may violate the model code of conduct prescribed by the Election Commission as 10 Assembly constituencies are going to polls on July 27.
