Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday blamed the Congress Government for spreading liquor business to every nook and corner of of State by granting permits to wine shops through auction.
According to party spokesperson V Srinivasa Raju, the life of poor has become miserable as the bread-winners of the family have become alcohol addicts.
He alleged that the government was keen on mobilizing resources through excise auctioning instead of uplifting the lives of poor.
Talking to reporters at the party office, he demanded the government to cancel liquor auctioning and impose ban on sale of liquor in the state to improve the living condition of poor and middle class people.
He threatened to launch agitation against state government’s excise policy on June 15 at all excise offices in the state.
Demanding the revival of anti-liquor publicity committee, the Bjp leader urged the government to immediately close down all the belt shops to save the lives of the downtrodden..
He also demanded resignation of Major irrigation Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah for his alleged large scale irregularities in the Jalayagnam project works.
