The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Thursday stayed the trial proceedings against the Pidathala Satyam Babu, accused in the murder of 19-year-old pharmacy student Ayesha Meera in Vijayawada.
Admitting a petition filed by the accused, who sought relief from trial proceedings citing health problems, the court stayed the proceedings and instructed the police accordingly.
Reacting favourably to the plea of the accused, the court issued interim orders staying the trial. Satyam Babu, who is taking treatment at NIMS, has been suffering from Guillain Barre Syndrome and both his legs were affected. He could not even walk properly.
