HC notice to State on liquor

A petition seeking prohibition in the state was filed in the Andhra Pradesh High Court here on Tuesday.Admitting the petition filed by Narayana from Nizamabad district, the court issued notices to both the Centre and state governments.

In the petition, Narayana stated the government was encouraging people to consume liquor and playing with the lives of the people by giving permits to liquor outlets liberally across the state.He urged the court to direct the governments to impose ban on liquor immediately.
