ACB raid on R&B engineer's house unearths Rs 5 crore

The officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (Acb) on Tuesday conducted simultaneous raids on the residences of Madan Mohan, executive engineer in Roads and Buildings department in the city and his relatives and unearthed assets to the tune of Rs 5 crores.

The total assets they recovered in his house include half a Kilogram gold jewellery ornaments, half kg silver items and Rs 2.12 lakh in cash.

The Acb sleuths conducted simultaneous raids on his house at Tallabasthi, Mushirabad and his daughter’s house at Markandeyanagar on the basis of a complaint that the engineer amassed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The officials are yet to unlock the bank lockers to ascertain the exact value of the property, they said. Searches are still going on at the time of filing the report.The officials registered a case of corruption against the engineer.
