With the Congress and Telugu Desam deciding to contest the by-polls for the 12 assembly seats in Telangana, the Joint Action Committee of Osmania University students proposes to launch Chaitanya Yatra in the remote villages of Telangana .
The JAC gave a call to all the Tealngana people to elect unanimously those MLAs who resigned for the sake of Telangana recently. In order to educate the rural people in Telangana, the JAC will take up the Chaitanya yatra in 12 vehicles to the 12 Assembly segments which are going to polls.
``We will carry on door-to-door campaign in the rural areas to bring awareness among the people of Telangana region. Candidates contesting against those MLAs who resigned their Assembly seats for the sake of Telangana will be severely dealt with,’’ the JAC leaders said.
The JAC leaders even threatened to stone them to death. They predicted that the Congress and Telugu Desam candidates will not even get their deposits if they contest.
The Centre has constituted the Srikrishna Committee to seek the opinion of political parties and people on the Telangana issue, but the outcome of the polls will have its own impact, felt the JAC.
