Former minister Konda Surekha who swallowed sleeping pills during the Odarpu Yatra of Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy in Mahabubabad on Friday is out of danger. Mamatha Super Specialty Hospital, where she was admitted for treatment, indicated that Surekha is stable and “is responding to the treatment”.
Meanwhile, MLC Pulla Padmavathi, who is taking treatment at the same hospital for chest pain during the Odarpu yatra, told reporters on Saturday that the gunmen have saved their lives.
“Without the gunmen, the Telangana protestors would have killed us barbarically’ by pelting stones,” she said. The protestors did not even spare the women, she pointed out.
She alleged vested elements were conspiring to ruin the political career of Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. She sought action against the stone-pelters in Mahabubabad.
