He said the sub-committee would review and cross-check the leakages, verify misuse of funds by educational institutions and strengthen the scheme with more transparency.

“We will take serious action against the engineering colleges, humiliating SC/ST/BC students for reimbursement of fee. The Government will release funds within short time. The college managements should maintain patience for a few days,” he stated.

Minister for Agriculture Raghuveera Reddy said the press meet was arranged in the wake of comments on welfare schemes passed by Opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu to detail about welfare schemes.

Reddy challenged Naidu to name of the scheme which he wants to remove, at Mahanadu meeting at Gandipet.

Social Welfare Minister Pilli Subhashchandrabose said “Our government is firm on implementing YSR programmes without any failure. Delay due to different reasons, is not mean to vacation of schemes. Its a mispropaganda by a few media organizations and Chandrababu Naidu.”
