After High Court intervention over the chalk of action plan to curb covid cases, Telangana government has imposed night curfew from today i.e April 20 between 9pm till 5am. The night curfew will remain in place till May 1.
On Tuesday 5,926 fresh Covid-19 cases were witnessed and over the rise in cases, the HC on Monday asked the state government either to impose night curfew or weekend lockdown and if the government fails to take action in next 48 hours, then HC will be passing the orders.
Exemption:
While offices, shops, restaurants and other things continue to remain shut during the night curfew, only essential services have been exempted.
a) Print and electronic media.
b) Telecommunications, internet services, broadcasting and cable services, IT and IT-enabled services.
c) Delivery of all goods through e-commerce.
d) Petrol pumps, LPG, CNG, petroleum and gas outlets.
e) Power generation, transmission and distribution.
f) Water supply and sanitation.
g) Cold storage and warehousing services.
h) Private security services.
i) Production units or services which require a continuous process.
All others will be prohibited from venturing out beyond 9 pm. Those who are still allowed to function during the night curfew hours would also include:
a) Government officers, including those of urban local bodies and Panchayati Raj institutions, on emergency duty on production of valid identity card.
b) All private medical personnel such as doctors, nursing staff, paramedics and providers of other hospital services etc on production of valid identity card.
c) Pregnant women and patients for the purpose of receiving medical care.
d) Persons coming from/going to airports, railway stations, bus stands on production of valid ticket.
