Naidu writes to Centre on farm problems

Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday urged the Central Ministers to ensure minimum support price (MSP) for farm produce.

In this connection, he wrote to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Anand Sharma, Union Textiles Minister Dayanidhi Maran, Union Minister for Food and Agriculture Sharad Pawar and Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Wednesday urging them to look into their problems.

He appealed to the Ministers to direct the State Trading Corporation and Tobacco Board to initiate procurement of agricultural products and ensure MSP for farm produces.

In his letters, Naidu said the recent cyclone has damaged tobacco, chillies, mangoes and other commercial crops badly.He urged the Central Ministers to help the distressed farmers economically by giving support price to their produce.
