Gandipet, the venue of the three-day annual Mahandu set to begin on May 27, has been peopled by over-enthusiastic Telugu Desam activists who are working round-the- clock to ensure that everything is in place for the grand inaugural on Thursday.
In all, 15,,000 delegates from all over the State, are expected to attend the once-a-year political extravaganza called the Mahanadu. A special stage has been readied. A large kitchen is being erected for preparing the community food for the delegates.
This is for the first time that a large number of delegates have been invited to attend the mega event. Hoardes of labourers have been employed to build kerb walls, dig trenches for water pipelines and other civil works near the Gandipeta , which is the main venue.
Senior Telugu Desam leaders Devender Goud and Talasani Srinivas Yadav visited the Mahanadu venue at Gandipet on Wednesday to oversee the arrangements and made specific suggestions to turn the event a great success.
