Govt to construct buildings for social welfare dept hostels

Hyderabad, Aug 20 :

The state government will construct buildings for all social welfare department hostels, stated Minister for Social Welfare P Subhash Chandra Bose here on Thursday.

When the Opposition members demanded the state government to increase the hostel facilities for students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes communities and enhance the mess bills for students, the Minister said that the government would construct integrated hostels in every mandal and an Rs 1144 crore proposal has been made to the government in this regard.

He also denied the reports that a blue film was screened in a social welfare department hostel in Warangal.

As the warden not paid the cable fee for two channel operators, they hatched a plan to screen blue films to the students. The district collector was asked to investigate into the issue, he added.
