The visit of Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu to the districts of Prakasam and Nalogonda to find out the woes of farmers in those districts is a big farce. He did not end there, he even met the Chief Minister K Rosaiah and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and appraised them of the woes of farmers in the state to gain their support in the state.
``The gimmicks will not have any impact on the farmers,’’ said Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Minister for Major Irrigation.
Commenting on the TDP chief’s visit to Delhi, Lakshmaiah said `` the former chief minister, who once described agriculture as a sheer waste, is now shedding crocodile tears and running from pillar to post on to highlight the farmers’ issues only with a selfish motive to gain political mileage.’’
