Condemning the shootout in the Old City on Friday, the Bharatiya Janata Party members on Saturday staged a dharna in the City.
Expressing anguish over the killing of constable Ramesh, Bjp senior leader Bandaru Dattatreya demanded the arest of the culprits immediately.
Condemning the ‘ghastly incident,’ he conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family and urged the government to provide necessary help to the family members.
He criticized the state police for not taking enough measures even though the Intelligence department issued a warning to them.
“It was for the third time in the last 17 months that suspected terrorist elements attacked policemen while on duty in Hyderabad city. This clearly shows the laxity on the part of police,” he pointed out.
“The Old City has become a soft target for terrorist elements. If the police do not take effective measures then the lives of many people will be under threat,” he stated.
