Cop shot dead as terrorists strike city

Suspected terrorists fired at a police  picket near Olga Hotel of  Saliband area here on Friday killing one police  constable and grievously injuring two others.

The incident shook the city at a time when the third anniversary of the Mecca Masjid blast is round the corner.

The deceased constable Ramesh, hails from the Andhra Pradesh Special Police Force. The other injured constables were shifted to Osmania Hospital for treatment.

Following the attack on a police picket,  the city was put under high alert. Terrorist Vikaruddin was  suspected to be behind the attack.

Many more ISI agents are suspected to be still in the city.Police commissioner Ak Khan was visiting the nearby police picket when the terrorists struck.The suspected terrorists came on a scooter and fired several rounds on the APSOP constables.
