State hostels lacked amenities: Babu

The state government has failed to provide the minimum basic amenities to hostellers, stated Telugu Desam supremo N Chandrababau Naidu on Friday.

A group of students of Ponnur who approached Naidu, while he was holding the Istagoshti programme at the NTR Trust Bhavan here, asked him to bring their problems to his notice.Naidu alleged the government failed to release the scholarships to the students and reimburse their fee.

Naidu condemned the lathicharge on students on Thursday, while they were holding a peaceful agitation seeking the release of their scholarships and reimbursement of fee for reserved category students pursuing engineering and medicine courses.

Though the government is giving statements that it is providing all facilities for students in hostels, nothing is materializing at the execution stage.

The government’s policies put the students in the dire straits, he alleged and asked the government to allot more funds for education sector in the budget and solve their problems promptly.
