Regularize contract staff in Singareni: Naidu

Slamming the UPA Government and State Government for leaving the welfare of labour to their fate, Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu said the Congress had the credit of throwing employees of profit-making Singareni Collieries Limited on to the roads.

Talking to Singareni Collieries workers in an Ishtagoshti programme at NTR Trust Bhavan on Tuesday, he said the government should implement pay scale and other benefits to contract workers on the lines of permanent employees.

He urged the government to provide quarters to contract employees at nominal rent. He also appealed to the government to regularize the contract employees in the Singareni collieries.

Naidu said the TDP would fight for just rights of Singareni employees in  Parliament and legislative bodies.

He also urged the government to complete all pending power projects in Singareni.TNTUC leader Satishkumar, K Tirupathi Rao and other leaders held  discussions with the TDP leader.
