Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy met Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh at Vignan Bhavan here on Monday and appraised him of the drought situation in the state.
The Cm who was here to attend the chief ministers conference on internal security met the Prime Minister after the conference and appraised him of the situation in the state.
YSR also impressed upon the PM, the need to declare the state projects Indrasagar, Dummugudem, Pranahita-Chevela, Sujala Sravanti Devadula, Kantanapally and Yellampally as national projects.
Seeking for the release of more funds on drought, the Chief Minister requested the PM for the quick disposal of pending files from the Ministry of Finance and Home. He also pleaded with the Centre to make arrangements for the purchase of broiled rice in godowns of AP so that fresh rice could be procured.
Later the Chief Minister left for Sonia Gandhi’s residence and appraised the Congress president onf the drought situation in Andhra Pradesh and sought for the release of more funds to tackle the drought situation.
