Telangana political joint action committee (JAC) convenor Prof M.Kodandaram said on Saturday the people of Telangana have no faith in the Srikrishna Committee which is planning to tour the state from April 22.
Addressing a press conference at Jangan on Saturday, Prof. Kodandaram said the Srikrishna panel was the latest in the crop of committees whose recommendations were rejected or completely ignored by the governments. Prof Kodandaram was here as part of a Padayatra.
He said this committee was constituted only to dilute the spirit of Telangana movement and to take steam out of the agitation. In the last 50 years, such committees were set up whenever there was a spurt in the demand for separate Telangana. Later, all such reports were quietly dumped after the tempers cooled. The same fate awaits this committee too, he said.
Meanwhile, Balladeer Gaddar who is also here with Prof Ram, hoped the separate Telangana state would be carved out soon and a new force would emerge. ''I strongly believe, a new force would sort out all kinds of problems in the separate state,'' he added.
Speaking to newsmen here, Gaddar suspected that a hidden enemy was creating hurdles for the separate state. Alleging that there was a conspiracy against the Telangana movement, Gaddar advised the ruling Congress leaders to reach the people instead of shuttling between Delhi and Hyderabad. He came down heavily on Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Governor Narasimhan. He accused Narasimhan of designing the Green Hunt Operation against the Naxalites in Chhattisgarh.
