Fulfilling his promise to meet the family members of those who died of cardiac arrest or committed suicide following the death of Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy launched a five-day `Vodarpu Yatra’ in West  Godavari and  Khammam districts on Friday.

Jagan started his tour here on Friday and is scheduled to meet the members of 88 families in W.Godavari and Khammam districts, spread over 23 Assembly segments – 13 in West Godavari and 10 in Khammam districts respectively. He is expected to travel over 1300 km during the tour and console the family members.

The young MP took six months to put his words into action. There were several obstacles to the tour as some of the party leaders feared that his tour would elevate Jagan to a national status with which he could usurp state power. However, the Jagan camp had successfully executed the work and secured clearance from  Sonia Gandhi.

Jagan, on his part,  was able  to convince PCC chief DSrinivas and Chief Minister  K Rosaiah that this was purely an apolitical tour.
