Lok Satta party president Jayaprakash Narayanan on Friday submitted a 117-page report to Justice B N Srikrishna Committee.Submitting its report, the party urged the Committee to follow a rational and judicious approach and protect the long-term interests of the state.
Releasing the copy of the report to the media here, Jayaprakash stressed the need for universally-acceptable solution on the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
Once language ceases to be a marker for state formation, we should decide what a rational criterion for the division of states is...Any ad hoc approach in one part of the country will lead to escalating demands and a cascading effect elsewhere," the report said.
The report recommended that institutional arrangements be made immediately to address the concerns and aspirations of Telangana and other backward regions in Andhra Pradesh.
