Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, MP from Kadapa, met Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas on Wednesday at his residence to iron out the differences, especially with regard to his proposed visit to two districts.
Both the Congress leaders discussed the latest developments in the state. What transpired prominently during the meeting was the proposed `Odarpu Yatra’ which Jagan intends to set out on April 9.
Jagan assured the party chief that he would take an active role in the party's organisational activities and help consolidate the position of the party in the state. The MP further assured DS that the Odarpu Yatra is not targeted at any particular individual in the party.
Senior congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP KVP Ramachandra Rao, who was the personal advisor of late Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy was also present during the meeting.
Jagan is expected to begin the Odarpu Yatra on April 9 from West Godavari district and he is scheduled to visit Khammam district later. During his Odarpu Yatra Jagan will console the family members who lost their dear ones during the mourning after YSR’s death in the state.
As reported earlier, many staunch followers of YSR could not bear the news of YSR’s death and committed suicide.
Later, Jagan and DS accompanied by KVP left in a vehicle to attend the marriage of Karthik Reddy, son of Home Minister Sabita Indra Reddy.
