It is a known secret that, there is some friction going on between Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Siddipet MLA, former Minister T Harish Rao since long. The state government as is known expanded its cabinet in February, with 10 ministers being sworn in. One move that raised eyebrows was the decision by KCR not to induct his son, KT Rama Rao and his nephew, T Harish Rao. I
KTR was, however, appointed as the Working President of TRS, but Harish Rao who once was known as the ‘trouble shooter’ was not allotted any post. It was largely speculated that, KCR and Harish Rao would contest in Lok Sabha elections and KTR would be made CM of the state. But, KCR ahead of the polls termed them as baseless rumors. Neither KCR nor Harish Rao contested in the elections.
After a surprise setback in the Lok Sabha elections, TRS is once again upbeat following a massive victory in the local body polls. After winning just 9 of the 17 LS seats, the TRS managed to win 60% of the total MPTCs and a whopping 83% of the ZPTCs.
KCR who is now in high spirits is mulling over the idea of expanding his cabinet. If some highly placed sources are to be believed, Harish Rao would be given either Irrigation or Finance Ministry. In fact, Harish served as an Irrigation Minister last term and played a key role in construction of new projects.
Apparently, KCR now wants to clear the air on rumors of all is not well between him and his nephew. Moreover, this move will uplift buoyancy of TRS workers and leaders.
