The marriage of ace Indian tennis player Sania Mirza with Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Mallik will not be taking place in India but in Dubai.
In view of security concerns, fear of protests and threats from right wing activists like the Shiv Senas, the wedding venue has been shifted to Dubai.
The Pakistan media has broadcast the news of the change in the venue of the marriage on Saturday.
The marriage was expected to take place on April 15 in Hyderabad, Sania's hometown. Now, it will take place in Dubai, where Mallik resides.
This move also comes amid the controversy over the Pakistani cricketer's alleged marriage to Hyderabadi girl Ayesha Siddiqui. The Siddiquis have raised a hue and cry over the ties between Sania and Shoaib. Siddiqui also produced the nikahnama of Ayesha with Malik to mediamen on Friday.
Apart from this, Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamna on Friday made a vitriolic attack on Sania over her decision to marry a Pakistani. Bal Thackeray questioned Sania's commitment to the country.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that Shoaib Mallik has secretly flown to Hyderabad on Friday evening to finalise the venue of the wedding with the Mirzas.
