DS lauds Koneru's services

Hailing him as a hero of the Dalits and backward classes, Pradesh Congress Committee chief D Srinivas paid glowing tributes to late Koneru Ranga Rao here on Saturday.

Addressing a condolence meeting organised by the City Congress Committee, the PCC chief said in the death of Koneru, the state lost a great dalit leader and the state Congress in particular. He lauded the services of Koneru to the backward classes in the state.

D Srinivas unveiled a portrait of Koneru Ranga Rao here on Saturday. Earlier, Srinivas visited Kanakadurga temple atop Indrakeeladri hill and offered prayers to the goddess.

Srinivas is likely to attend a condolence meeting being organised to mourn the death of Ranga Rao at his native village Gudavalli on Sunday.

Kadapa MP YS Jagan, along with some senior Congress leaders, is likely to attend the condolence meeting.
