Former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee passed away leaving the entire nation tear struck. People across the country recollected their fond memories with him. Even people of the two Telugu states had fond memories of him.
Vajpayee first visited Andhra Pradesh and went to Gunur in 60s and inaugurated Savarkar road. During that time when he spoke in Hindi and others present on the stage tried to translate it, audience did not understand that. In fact they loved Vajpayee’s chaste and extempore Hindi.
Senior NTR became close to Vajpayee after he uprooted the Congress regime in the state. It is known that at one time NTR played a key role in forming the national front. During that time when Vajpayee and other leaders came to Hyderabad to attend a meeting, NTR served butter to everyone.
Vajpayee known for his extempore ways, remarked ‘NTR Ji, aap hame maakhan lagaa re”.
